No big snow chances for a while.

There will be light snow showers Friday night. Other than that, the pattern will relax a bit and it will be warm. Expect a cold rain for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with temperatures in the upper 40's to low 50's.

Is winter over? Nope. It hasn't even started yet! Winter starts on Saturday, 12/21/24.

The long range data suggest that it will take a long break. I think patterns set up shop for 21 days and then leave and return again for 21 days but that is my opinion. The computer models can't decide if the polar vortex will visit us on January 5th or January 15th. Check out this CFS temperature for January 16, 2025:
