Spring fever is well in swing here in Bloomington.

There are lots of people out and about today. It is also a "Wellness Day" at Indiana University and students have the day off. You should also get out and enjoy the day if you can because it will rain all day tomorrow and into Friday morning. The weekend looks nice with hit-or-miss rain showers at 40% Saturday and 10% Sunday. Today is the best day of the week. I would love to be out golfing but the winds are blowing out of the southwest at 16 to 18mph and that would mess up my game.

I'm still seeing signs of snow showing up between March 28th and April 1st. The models have been consistent about this so get ready.

BRB!

BRB has two meanings here. The first is me sounding like a broken record so I refer to myself as BRB or "Broken Record Burl" for saying the same thing over and over again. The second has to do with winter. Winter's last text message to me said, "Be right back!".

Once again, I hate to spoil the fun but winter is not over. All the data I'm seeing suggests that the second half of March will return to a colder pattern with the possibility of snow. For an example, here are a few different computer model runs. This does not mean it will happen; only that the pattern supports colder air and maybe some snow.

Golf Forecast for Wednesday 3/10.

Oh boy! Tomorrow is a great day to go golfing. The high temperature will be 66 degrees with mixed sun and clouds but no rain. The only problem is that there will be a 10-15 mph wind. When I play golf I always remember to compensate for the wind by using as 10-12 ratio. What does that mean? Well, as a general rule, a wind speed of 10 mph will move a golf ball about 12 yards while in the air.

Here's a wind chart starting at 8:00am tomorrow morning.

Which country in the world has the most number of tornadoes?

CNN published a great article about tornadoes today. The graphics are really good too. Due to copyright laws, I can republish any of that content but I would encourage you to check out the article @:

What a great morning in Bloomington Indiana.

The sun is shining, the birds are chirping and it's off to being a fabulous day as I stare outside my window and sip my cheap Folgers instant coffee. I hope everyone gets to enjoy this and the next three days. Rain returns on Thursday and it might last through next weekend. As I said before, I do not think winter is over yet. Signs are pointing to a return to winter for the second half of the month, March 15 - 30. The core of the cold air will last from March 18 -March 24 where temperatures could dip into the 20's at night.  Until then, enjoy the sunshine and stay safe.

An absolutely beautiful week through next Wednesday.

What a great day to be out golfing. Lots of sunshine. No rain, no snow, no ice, no tornadoes and not very much wind either. But beware, winter looks like it will try to make a comeback from March 18 through April 1st. Check this out:
